SOLD Antique Heriz 11x8 Beautiful, great price . not busy, Great organic colors Hand knotted
SOLDThis is a wonderful Semi antique Heriz. The very old pre1900 Heriz are referred to as Serapis. This village rug uses all natural vegetable dyed wool knotted to a cotton foundation. It is just starting to show wear and fading of colors. This rug is 80 years old and has lots of life left. Exact size is 10ft 9 in x 7ft 6 in
What makes this piece so wonderful is that it is understated, not too “ busy”, and the colors are wonderful. No brash reds that sometimes predominate these rugs.
Balanced, formal with a wonderful tribal weave. Do sOme comparative shopping. The ends and sides are in very good shape, no end loss, no holes, no stains or odors. Just professionally cleaned.
Will continue to improve with age, and its value increase.
