Antique tribal runner, Pre 1900 village made, organic vegetable dyed wool. 7ft.3” x 2ft 5”. Wonderful wear and abrash. Primitive design.
Absolutely gorgeous antique Karaja runner, hand knotted vegetable dyed wool on cotton foundation.
Striking coloration and just enough wear. Colors from this region take on magnificent hues with age. Karaja is a small remote village not far from Heriz or Bahkshaish. Often symbols are similar to their neighbors, including Caucasian elements.
Colors include shades of red, orange, salmon, various shades of blue, camel. Note the abstract animal figures in the center of the rug. Possibly Alpacas. ONE OF A KIND.
No holes, stains or odors. Ends completely intack.
Selvages(sides) have some wear.
One of a kind and highly collectible. Looks great as a wall hanging or on the floor.
